Tree Management consultants in Uran.
Tree Management in Uran, on the ground where the work actually is, the mangroves and wetlands around the port, and the salt pans and fishing villages of the Uran coast, with one team on it from the site survey until the survival data says it took.
Why Uran
The local ground tree management sits on.
- Decided with
- Mangrove Cell (Maharashtra Forest Department) · MCZMA · Uran Municipal Council · CIDCO · JNPA · MPCB Raigad
- Local ground
- The mangrove creeks around Nhava Sheva, the Panje and Dongri wetlands, the salt pans and fishing villages of the coast, and the logistics yards around Dronagiri
- Typically for
- Developers, contractors, infrastructure and industrial projects
Uran is low, flat land between the harbour and the hills around Dronagiri, and much of it was once creek, mudflat and salt pan. Mangroves still line the creeks around the port, and wetlands such as Panje and Dongri fill with flamingos and other migratory birds each winter. The port, the logistics yards and the new roads have taken a large share of this ground. Green work here is about planting and protecting on saline, wind-blown land: for the villages, workers and birds that share it.
Tree work at Uran falls to different hands depending on the land. Within Uran Municipal Council limits, the council's Tree Authority decides under the Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Protection and Preservation of Trees Act, 1975. On CIDCO, JNPA and village land the route has to be confirmed plot by plot, and mangroves follow the Forest Department and the High Court's order rather than any tree authority. We enumerate every tree, establish the right authority, prepare the application and see the compensatory planting through. The work is carried from our base in the region by named people, start to finish, not passed down a chain.

Local demand
What drives tree management in Uran.
Development is the first driver, and at Uran it meets mangroves more often than trees. The Bombay High Court's 2018 judgment protects mangroves wherever they grow and requires the court's leave before any are cut for a public project, usually with compensatory mangrove planting as a condition. Port expansion, road links and utility corridors all pass through that process. On dry land, projects meet trees and the green-cover conditions of their clearances. Either way, the planting that follows has to survive salt, wind and tide: not only an inspection.
Uran's roads are being rebuilt around the port, Atal Setu and the new airport, and widening often runs through old village trees: banyan, peepal, mango and tamarind lining the approaches to temples and hamlets. Villages value these trees, and removals draw objections. Where mangroves stand in the way of a public project, the High Court's leave and compensatory planting are needed as well. An accurate record of trees and mangroves at the start avoids disputed surveys later, when the work is already under way.
How it works
Tree Management, from survey to survival.
- 01/05
Tree enumeration & census
Every tree on site numbered, measured and identified, the defensible count the whole application rests on.
- 02/05
Transplant feasibility
An honest assessment of which trees can be saved by transplantation rather than felled.
- 03/05
Tree Authority NOC
The cutting / transplantation application prepared and pursued through the relevant municipal Tree Authority.
- 04/05
Transplantation
Careful lifting, moving and replanting of feasible trees with root-ball protection.
- 05/05
Post-transplant survival
Monitoring and the survival compliance the authority requires after a transplant.

Straight answers
Tree Management in Uran: common questions.
01A mangrove stand is growing into our storm drain. Can we clear it?
Not on your own. Mangroves are protected wherever they grow, private land included, and cutting or trimming them needs approval through the Mangrove Cell before anything is done. We document the stand, apply for the least work that restores the flow, and propose planting elsewhere to make good what is removed.
02Is a wetland like Panje protected?
Its status has been the subject of public petitions and official review for several years, and it can change with each decision. What does not change is that tidal wetlands, mudflats and mangroves around Uran fall under coastal and wetland rules that limit filling and building. We check a site's current status with the relevant authority before any work near one.
03How long does tree management take in Uran, and who is involved?
Mangrove Cell (Maharashtra Forest Department) · MCZMA · Uran Municipal Council · CIDCO · JNPA · MPCB Raigad are the bodies an Uran project works with. On timing: census in weeks; NOC by Tree Authority calendar. KIPL sets out a realistic Uran schedule once the site and the scope have been read, and carries the work through to the outcome, with comparable work on the record such as MCGM GARDEN DEVELOPMENT- MIYAWAKI PLANTATION.
