ESG Advisory & Reporting in Uran, on the ground where the work actually is, the JNPA port, the container freight stations along its approach roads and the ONGC plant beside the Uran creeks, carried by one accredited team, from the first baseline to the signed-off report.

Uran holds the country's busiest state-run container port, and most of the town's compliance work follows it. The terminals at Nhava Sheva, the container freight stations and warehouses along the roads to Dronagiri and Jasai, the ONGC plant that processes oil and gas from the Mumbai offshore fields, and the tank farms around them all run on consents, clearances and returns. Much of this land was reclaimed from creek and mudflat. Compliance here means answering to the port, CIDCO and MPCB at once: on sites that sit beside mangrove and tidal water.
ESG work at Uran is shaped by the port's customers. Global shipping lines, terminal operators and freight forwarders report emissions along their chains and ask Indian partners for the figures: diesel for trucks and reach stackers, electricity for reefer points and cold stores, waste from repairs and packing. Listed Indian logistics companies add their own BRSR disclosures. We build these figures from records operators already keep, set a method that repeats, and prepare the disclosure or footprint the customer needs. The work is carried from our base in the region by named people, start to finish, not passed down a chain.
ESG Advisory & Reporting · Uran
The disclosure mandate starts at the top of the pyramid. The data demand runs all the way down it.
Local demand
What drives esg advisory & reporting in Uran.
The second driver is the port's customers. The shipping lines and terminal operators working at Nhava Sheva belong to global groups with published carbon targets, and they now ask their Indian partners (hauliers, CFS operators, warehouse owners) for fuel, electricity and emissions data. The Harit Sagar green-port guidelines of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways push JNPA in the same direction. Importers clearing goods at Uran meet EPR too: the importer of plastic packaging, electronics or batteries generally carries the obligation, not the port.
Container logistics is carbon-heavy and easy to count badly. A single box may move by truck from a CFS to the terminal, sit on reefer power and be lifted several times, and different customers ask for the figures in different units. The International Maritime Organization's decarbonisation targets, and the European Union's inclusion of shipping in its emissions trading system, have led shipping lines to look harder at emissions across their chains, inland legs included. Operators who report consistently find those conversations easier.

Straight answers
ESG Advisory & Reporting in Uran: common questions.
01Different customers want our emissions per container, per tonne and per trip. Do we need three calculations?
No, one good dataset and three ways of expressing it. If fuel and electricity are recorded against movements, or at least against each month's throughput, the figure can be divided by containers, tonnes or trips as each customer asks. We set up that record once, follow the GLEC Framework the freight industry uses, and keep the method the same each year.
02A shipping line has asked for our carbon data. We run trucks and a yard. Where do we begin?
With diesel. For most hauliers and yards, fuel for trucks and reach stackers is the largest part of the footprint, followed by grid electricity and DG sets. We draw the figures from fuel bills, card statements and meters, apply standard factors, and give the customer a number per container moved that you can repeat every quarter.
03How long does esg advisory & reporting take in Uran, and who is involved?
MPCB Raigad · JNPA · CIDCO · MCZMA · SEIAA Maharashtra · CPCB (EPR) · SEBI (BRSR) are the bodies an Uran project works with. On timing: reporting-cycle driven; strategy ongoing. KIPL sets out a realistic Uran schedule once the site and the scope have been read, and carries the work through to the outcome, with comparable work on the record such as SHENDRA AND BIDKIN INDUSTRIAL AREA, AURANGABAD.
