What it is

KIPL takes gardens and parks from master plan to living space and, crucially, into maintenance: because the failure mode of civic green space is not the ribbon-cutting, it is the second summer. We design for how a place will actually be used and cared for, then build and maintain it to stay that way.

The work spans the whole arc: a master plan that balances lawns, planting, pathways, play and shade; execution of the softscape and hardscape; and maintenance contracts that keep the planting healthy and the space usable. For municipal bodies and developers alike, the point is a garden that is still a garden years later, not a landscaping photo that browns by August.
