Integrated Solid Waste Management consultants in Navi Mumbai.
Integrated Solid Waste Management in Navi Mumbai, on the ground where the work actually is, CIDCO's planned city and the TTC industrial belt, carried by a QCI-NABET accredited team, end to end.
Why Navi Mumbai
The local ground integrated solid waste management sits on.
- Handled through
- SEIAA Maharashtra · MPCB Navi Mumbai · CIDCO / NMMC
- Local ground
- The TTC industrial area, the CIDCO nodes and the Juinagar–Mahape belt
- Typically for
- Housing societies, campuses, hotels, markets, institutions (bulk generators)
Navi Mumbai is one of Maharashtra's densest clusters of environmentally regulated development. CIDCO's node-by-node township growth across Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar and Ulwe, the hyperscale data centres arriving along the corridor, and the chemical and engineering units of the TTC (Trans-Thane Creek) industrial area at Rabale, Mahape and Turbhe each carry their own environmental obligations.
KIPL carries integrated solid waste management from a base in the region: which matters when the work runs through SEIAA Maharashtra · MPCB Navi Mumbai · CIDCO / NMMC. We have taken Navi Mumbai projects, an IT park at Juinagar and a pigment expansion in the TTC area at Rabale, through to completion.

Segregate at source, process on site. The rule is old; the discipline is what's new.
Local demand
What drives integrated solid waste management in Navi Mumbai.
Two engines drive clearance work here. CIDCO's built environment is the first: residential and commercial towers rising across Kharghar, Ulwe, Taloja and the airport-influence belt routinely cross the 20,000 sq m built-up mark that pulls a project into environment clearance as a Category B, item 8(a) building, with larger integrated layouts falling under the item 8(b) township threshold.
The second engine is the TTC industrial area, where chemical, pigment, pharma and engineering units at Rabale, Mahape and Turbhe carry EC alongside MPCB consent, and a third has grown fast: hyperscale data centres with heavy power, water and DG-set footprints that often need a CRZ read where they sit near the creek. Because SEIAA Maharashtra, MPCB's Navi Mumbai office and CIDCO/NMMC all touch the same file, the real skill is sequencing the approvals.
How it works
Integrated Solid Waste Management, the route to grant.
- 01/05
Waste assessment
Quantities and composition measured across the wet, dry and domestic-hazardous streams, the basis for right-sizing everything.
- 02/05
Segregation & collection design
Colour-coded, source-level segregation and a collection flow the residents or staff will actually follow.
- 03/05
Material recovery
A recovery step for dry recyclables, cutting what goes to landfill and turning waste into value.
- 04/05
Decentralised processing
On-site composting or biomethanation for the wet fraction, sized to the load, with a plan for the finished compost or gas.
- 05/05
DPR & compliance
A detailed project report where needed and the records that satisfy the urban local body and the bulk-generator rules.

Straight answers
Integrated Solid Waste Management in Navi Mumbai: common questions.
01Does a residential tower in Kharghar or Ulwe need environment clearance?
If its built-up area crosses 20,000 sq m, yes: that is the item 8(a) threshold under the EIA Notification 2006, which most mid-to-large CIDCO-node towers cross. Below it the project is out of EC but still faces MPCB consent and CIDCO conditions. We confirm the exact built-up figure before advising either way.
02Do TTC units at Rabale or Turbhe need EC, or only MPCB consent?
It depends on the activity's EIA schedule category. Many assembly and engineering units need only MPCB consent; chemical, pigment and pharma units, and expansions crossing category thresholds, need environment clearance as well. We map the unit to the schedule before anything is filed.
03How does the new airport affect clearances near Ulwe and Panvel?
Projects in the NMIA influence area often add height, wildlife and CRZ considerations to the standard EC track. We factor those in at screening so the environmental file and the other NOCs advance together rather than one after another.
04Who handles integrated solid waste management for a Navi Mumbai project, and how long does it take?
SEIAA Maharashtra · MPCB Navi Mumbai · CIDCO / NMMC are the bodies a Navi Mumbai project deals with. Timelines depend on the project's category and scale, assessment in weeks; system by site scale. KIPL prepares and carries the work through, tracked to the outcome, and maps a realistic Navi Mumbai timeline at the screening stage. We have taken Navi Mumbai work, an IT park at Juinagar and a pigment expansion in the TTC area at Rabale: through to completion.

A society generating over 100 kg/day is a bulk waste generator under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and must process wet waste on site.

Hospitality, Healthcare & Education
General, wet and bio-medical streams have to be segregated at source and tracked separately, each to a different rule set.
