KwaliChem Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of premium organic lake pigments, set out to raise production from 20 to 140 tonnes per month. KIPL ran the entire Environmental Impact Assessment behind that expansion: the studies, the report and the appraisal that stand between an ambition on paper and a sanctioned plant.
The brief
KwaliChem manufactures premium organic lake pigments and holds a strong position in the colorants industry. Its expansion would take production capacity from 20 tonnes per month to 140 (a sevenfold jump), with an additional 110 TPM of ice for captive use.
An increase of that magnitude at a chemical works in a dense industrial estate falls squarely inside the EIA regime. It needed the full assessment sequence, carried out carefully and presented to the committee that grants clearance.
