First the KSPCB consent and authorisation history, any closure or show-cause directions, how effluent and hazardous waste were handled, and what the neighbouring units do. Then soil and groundwater: especially where plating, painting or solvents were likely. A site walk and interviews often find what the paperwork misses: old pits, buried drums, a disused treatment plant.
02Does an IGBC or LEED rating replace KSPCB consent or environment clearance for a Bengaluru campus?
No. A green rating is voluntary and sits alongside the statutory track: it does not stand in for it. Where a campus crosses the built-up threshold, environment clearance runs through SEIAA Karnataka, and consent to establish and operate through KSPCB. Both are required whether or not the building is also rated. The two are best run together, because the same water and energy figures feed both files.
