The Central Park belt is the stretch of Kharghar around the large park CIDCO planned at the node's centre, with the golf course beside it and the Kharghar hills rising behind. The park holds lawns, walking tracks, water features and play areas, and on weekends it draws families from all over Navi Mumbai. Residential towers on the surrounding sectors are sold on their view of it. Up the slope, the hills open into grassland dotted with trees, and the Pandavkada falls run down in the monsoon. This is Kharghar's greenest ground, and new buildings here are turned to face it.
The Central Park belt raises questions about keeping green ground green as it is used more. The park and its trees take heavy footfall and need upkeep that lasts. Towers going up nearby are dug into the foot of the hill, with runoff, soil loss and lost trees in the monsoon. Water for lawns and water features competes with drinking water in summer. And the hills behind carry grassland and wildlife that are easily disturbed by paths, fires and dumping.

Straight answers
Central Park belt: common questions.
01Our plot near Central Park is on a slope. Is the slope going to matter for clearance?
Very likely. Committees look at how a slope will be cut, retained and drained, and how soil will be kept from washing off during construction. A geotechnical report, a drainage plan and a tree survey help. We prepare them with the application, so the file already carries the answers.
02Hill water floods our excavation in Kharghar every monsoon. What should the site do?
Intercept it above the site. A catch drain along the upper boundary, sized for heavy rain and led safely to the storm drain, keeps most hill water out of the excavation. Whatever still enters goes through a settling pit before pumping out. We design the drain and settling arrangement with the site team.
03Why do the lawns in our large park turn bare every summer?
Usually a mix of heavy foot traffic, compacted soil and thin summer watering. Re-seeding alone does not last. Routing paths where people already walk, loosening the soil, resting worn areas in turn, and replacing some lawn with shade planting work better. We map the wear and propose a plan.
04The paving around the trees on our road has been laid right up to the trunks. Does that harm them?
Over time, yes. Roots need air and water, and paving to the trunk starves them and makes the tree less stable. A ring of open soil or permeable paving around each trunk helps. The corporation's garden department can be asked to open the pits. We can inspect the trees and draft the request.
05Our society's lawn drinks too much water. What could replace it?
Keep grass just in the corners residents really use, and swap the rest for native ground covers, shrubs and mulched tree beds. They stay green on far less water and need less mowing. Drip lines running on treated water handle the remainder. We draw a planting plan and estimate the water saved.
