Towers along the Central Park belt tend to landscape their podiums and gardens to match the park's lawns, and then water them through the dry months with drinking water or tankers. Planting matched to the site does as much for the view with far less water: native trees and shrubs, lawns only where people sit or play, mulched beds, and drip irrigation fed from the STP. On sloping plots, terraced beds and swales slow the runoff that would otherwise carry soil down the hill.
The Central Park belt is the stretch of Kharghar around the large park CIDCO planned at the node's centre, with the golf course beside it and the Kharghar hills rising behind. The park holds lawns, walking tracks, water features and play areas, and on weekends it draws families from all over Navi Mumbai. Residential towers on the surrounding sectors are sold on their view of it. Up the slope, the hills open into grassland dotted with trees, and the Pandavkada falls run down in the monsoon. This is Kharghar's greenest ground, and new buildings here are turned to face it.

Sustainable Landscaping in Central Park belt: common questions.
01Our society's lawn drinks too much water. What could replace it?
Keep grass just in the corners residents really use, and swap the rest for native ground covers, shrubs and mulched tree beds. They stay green on far less water and need less mowing. Drip lines running on treated water handle the remainder. We draw a planting plan and estimate the water saved.
02How long does sustainable landscaping take in Central Park belt?
On timing: design to execution by scope; maintenance optional. A realistic Central Park belt schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
