Owe is an older village at Kharghar's outer edge, where the node's sectors meet the hills. Its houses and lanes remain, but the fields and open land around it are being taken up by new sectors and residential towers. Above the village, a small dam holds a lake in a fold between the hills, and in the monsoon streams run down past the settlement towards the node. The ground here is steeper and more broken than in central Kharghar. It is still one of the node's quieter corners, but building has been moving steadily towards it.
Owe's questions come from building right up to the hills. New towers cut into slopes and change how hill water runs off. Trees kept by villagers for generations stand on plots now being developed. The streams that come down from the hills carry soil and, increasingly, waste. And the village itself is being enclosed by a much denser neighbourhood, one whose sewage and rubbish must now be handled at a scale Owe has never known.

Straight answers
Owe: common questions.
01A seasonal stream crosses our plot near Owe. Can we build over it?
Not without care, and often not at all. Diverting or covering a natural stream can need permissions, and blocking it moves flood water onto neighbours. The usual approach is to keep the stream's course open, with a buffer on each side, and plan the layout around it. We map it and check the planning rules first.
02The village says our site sends mud into their lane every rain. What should we change?
Find where the site water goes and give it a safe route. Usually that means a drain around the site, a settling pit before the outlet, and covering bare soil before the rains. Clearing the mud already deposited and telling the village what has been done matters too. We survey and set out the fixes.
03There is a peepal tree with a small shrine on our plot. What should we do?
Plan to keep it if at all possible. Beyond the Tree Authority's permission, removing a shrine tree often causes deep local opposition. Designing it into open space usually costs less than the dispute. We map the tree and its root zone so the architect can plan around it.
04Our STP near the hills overflows during heavy rain. Why?
Most likely rain or hill water is getting into the sewer lines, through broken joints, open manholes or roof drains connected to the wrong pipe. The plant then receives far more than it was built for. We find the entry points and seal them before considering a larger plant.
05Our plot at Owe has thin, rocky soil. Can a Miyawaki forest take hold there?
Yes, with preparation. The bed is excavated and backfilled with soil enriched with compost, and species are chosen from those that grow on the surrounding hills. Growth may start slower than on deep soil, but hill species cope well once established. We test the ground and plan the bed depth.
