What it is
CSR / CER Advisory, without the guesswork.
Corporate Environment Responsibility is the environmental-spend condition attached to many Environment Clearances under the MoEF&CC's 2018 Office Memorandum, a defined percentage of project cost, directed at the community in the project's zone of influence. The perennial question is whether that spend also counts as CSR.
KIPL handles CER policy and budgeting, the CER-versus-CSR eligibility analysis, and the local-area implementation itself: turning a clearance condition into delivered projects within the 10 km zone, and doing the green work (plantation, water bodies, community green) we are already built to deliver.

Straight answers
CSR / CER Advisory: the questions clients ask first.
01What is Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER)?
A condition, introduced by the MoEF&CC's 2018 Office Memorandum, requiring project proponents to allocate a defined percentage of project cost to environmental and community activities in the project's zone of influence, as part of their Environment Clearance.
02Is CER the same as CSR?
No. They arise from different laws (CER from environmental clearance conditions; CSR from the Companies Act) and the eligibility overlap is not automatic. Whether a given CER spend can also be counted as CSR needs a specific analysis, which we provide before the budget is committed.
03Where must CER money be spent?
Principally in the project's local area (commonly the zone of influence within about 10 km) on activities benefiting the affected community and environment. Implementation is local and documented, not a general donation.
04Can KIPL implement CER as well as plan it?
Yes: plantation, water-body work and community green infrastructure within the zone of influence are exactly what our green-zone practice delivers, so CER can be planned and executed by one team.

Who we do this for
The same filing reads differently by industry.
What csr / cer advisory demands of a data centre is not what it demands of a distillery. These set out the item code, the conditions that bite and the evidence each sector is asked for.
