Rajkot's advisory work begins on the shop floor. Aji GIDC inside the city, Metoda and Lodhika to the west and the Shapar-Veraval belt on the Gondal highway hold thousands of small and mid-sized units: foundries, forging shops, machine-tool builders, pump and diesel-engine makers, bearing and auto-part suppliers. Most are owner-run, and many sell to larger makers in India and abroad. An hour to the north, Morbi's tile and sanitaryware kilns form a second cluster with its own air and fuel questions. Both answer to GPCB, and both now meet buyers who want the record in writing.

Community spending around Rajkot almost always meets water. Villages in Lodhika, Kotda Sangani and Padadhari taluks lean on check dams, farm ponds and wells that dry out by spring, and Saurashtra has a long tradition of people building recharge structures together. Schools close to the estates lack clean drinking water, toilets and shade. A CSR or CER project here earns its place when the village can show, a few summers later, that the well still has water in April.
