Tree Management in Kolshet, Thane.

Kolshet's old factory compounds were often planted generously, and a plot coming up for redevelopment may hold dozens of mature trees in rows along its internal roads and boundary. Planned for early, they give a new layout shade and age it could not otherwise have for decades. We survey every tree, show the architect which rows can be kept by aligning roads and open space along them, and prepare the Tree Authority application for the rest, with transplanting only where the species and size make survival likely.

Kolshet lies on Thane's northern edge, where Kolshet Road runs from the Ghodbunder side down towards the creek. Much of the land along it was industrial through the later twentieth century; as those units closed or moved away, their plots were redeveloped as some of the largest residential layouts in the city. The result is a neighbourhood of towers and new internal roads beside an older village and a few surviving industrial compounds. Its creek edge is lined with mangroves, mudflats and tidal channels, with Bhiwandi across the water, and parts of that edge have been opened to the public as waterfront.
