Water Body Remediation, without the guesswork.

A polluted urban lake or nalah is rarely fixed by cleaning it once. Water-body remediation is a systems problem: stop what is entering it, remove what has accumulated, and restore the conditions that let it hold clean water. KIPL treats lakes, ponds, rivers and stormwater nalahs as an environmental-engineering brief (intercepting sewage, desilting, bioremediating and re-oxygenating) and then monitors, so the recovery survives the next monsoon.

Interception and treatment of the inflow uses the same STP engineering; the ecological restoration (native planting, buffer, habitat) uses the green-zone team; and where the water body is significant, the intervention is grounded in an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment rather than a clean-up drive that fades.

01Why do cleaned lakes become polluted again?

Because the cleaning treated the symptom, not the cause. If untreated sewage or effluent keeps entering, any lake returns to a polluted state within months. Durable remediation intercepts and treats the inflow first, otherwise desilting and aeration are temporary.

02What techniques are used to restore a water body?

A combination, chosen to the site: interception and treatment of inflows, desilting to remove nutrient-rich sediment, in-situ bioremediation and aeration to rebuild water quality, and ecological restoration of banks and habitat. No single technique fixes a water body on its own.

03Does water-body work need environmental clearance?

It depends on the scale and nature of the intervention and the water body's status; significant works are grounded in an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and coordinated with the pollution-control board and the local body. We scope the regulatory route at diagnosis.

04Can lake rejuvenation count as CER or CSR spend?
