EAC / SEAC appraisal: presenting the case that grants the clearance.
The appraisal is where a clearance is decided: the EIA presented to the Expert Appraisal Committee, its queries answered, and the file tracked to the EC letter.
What it is
After the EIA and public hearing, the project is appraised by the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) for central projects or the State committee (SEAC / SEIAA) for state projects. The proponent presents the case, the committee raises queries, and, often over more than one meeting, either recommends the clearance with conditions or asks for more.
KIPL prepares and presents the appraisal case, drafts the responses to committee queries, and tracks the file gate by gate on the Parivesh portal to the Environment Clearance letter. This stage rewards knowing what a committee will ask and answering it credibly; it is where an accredited team's experience of appraisal directly shortens the route to grant.

Straight answers
SEAC / SEIAA / EAC Appraisal: common questions.
01What is EAC / SEAC appraisal?
It is the expert review that decides an Environment Clearance. The Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC, for central Category A projects) or the State committee (SEAC / SEIAA, for Category B) examines the EIA and public-hearing outcome, questions the proponent, and recommends grant with conditions or seeks more information.
02What is the Parivesh portal?
Parivesh is the Government of India's single-window online portal through which Environment, Forest, Wildlife and CRZ clearances are applied for and tracked. Appraisal proceedings, submissions and the final clearance move through it, so managing the file on Parivesh is part of getting to grant.
03Why do appraisals take more than one meeting?
Committees commonly raise queries or seek additional details at a first meeting and take the decision at a later one. How quickly that resolves depends on how completely and credibly the queries are answered, which is precisely where experienced appraisal support shortens the timeline.

Who we do this for
Environment Clearance reads differently by industry.
- 01
Real Estate & ConstructionCore
Built-up area above the item 8(a) threshold means no foundation until SEIAA grants EC, so the clearance sits on the RERA critical path.
Environment Clearance for Real Estate & Construction - 02
Townships & Area DevelopmentCore
Above 150,000 sq.m or 50 ha the project is appraised under item 8(b) as a settlement, on cumulative water, waste, traffic and air load.
Environment Clearance for Townships & Area Development - 03
Data Centres & IT ParksCore
Hyperscale halls and IT park blocks cross the item 8(a) built-up threshold, with backup-fuel storage and cooling water driving the appraisal.
Environment Clearance for Data Centres & IT Parks - 04
Hospitality, Healthcare & EducationCore
Hotels, hospitals and institutional campuses above the item 8(a) built-up threshold are appraised on water demand and waste streams, not floor count.
Environment Clearance for Hospitality, Healthcare & Education - 05
Chemical IndustryCore
Item 5(f) synthetic organic chemicals draw the highest appraisal scrutiny in Schedule I, and Category A cases are judged by the MoEF&CC's EAC.
Environment Clearance for Chemical Industry - 06
Distilleries & EthanolCore
Item 5(g) appraisal turns almost entirely on spent wash: no credible disposal route, no clearance, regardless of how the rest of the file reads.
Environment Clearance for Distilleries & Ethanol - 07
Sugar IndustryCore
Crushing capacity increases reopen the item 5(j) clearance, and cogeneration or distillation alongside it changes the category and the scale.
Environment Clearance for Sugar Industry - 08
Mining & MineralsCore
Item 1(a) covers major and minor minerals alike, with cluster assessment for sand ghats and intense baseline and public-hearing scrutiny.
