Navade lies on the western side of the Taloja estate, between Kalamboli and Kharghar, around the village of the same name and the Navade Road station on the rail line from Panvel towards Diva. CIDCO developed a small node here of plots and residential buildings, and the estate's industrial plots meet it along its eastern edge. Warehouses, small workshops and service units fill the ground in between. It is a place where families live, and where the estate's trucks and smells are close by. Many of its residents work in the estate, in Kalamboli's yards or further along the rail line.
Navade's questions are those of housing built right against an industrial estate. Residents notice odour, dust and clatter from the units just across the road. Small workshops and warehouses near homes may run without the consents their activities need. Nalas carry household sewage and industrial runoff down to the Kasadi. And, as more buildings go up, the node needs its sewage and waste systems to grow with the population arriving.

Straight answers
Navade: common questions.
01Our small fabrication unit in Navade has had complaints about paint smell. Do we need consent?
Spray painting generally needs consent, and the odour points to a missing control, such as a spray booth with an extraction and filter system. Adding them usually settles the complaints. We check your activity, file the right consent, and advise on the booth and extraction.
02We are building flats on a plot near Taloja MIDC. Do we need a soil test?
If the plot was ever used for industry or storage, it is sensible. Sampling where tanks, drums or pits stood shows whether anything needs cleaning up before building. Committees reviewing larger projects may ask too. The sampling plan follows the plot's former uses.
03Can a planted strip protect our building from the industrial estate's air?
It helps a little, mainly with dust and as a screen. It will not remove gases or odour, which have to be controlled at their source. A thick, layered strip of native trees is still worth planting for shade and green. We are straightforward about what a planted strip achieves.
04Our Navade building's STP water looks clear but smells. Is it safe to reuse for flushing?
Clear but smelly water usually means disinfection or aeration is not working well. It should be tested before reuse. Most often the fix is adjusting aeration, clearing the filters or restoring chlorination. We sample it and adjust the plant so it is fit for flushing.
05Our workshop produces oily rags and used oil. Can they go in the municipal bin?
No. Used oil and rags soaked in it count as hazardous waste; they leave only with a licensed re-refiner or disposal operator, and the paperwork is kept. Storing them in a labelled, covered drum and arranging regular collection keeps them out of the municipal stream. We can set up the route.
