Titwala layouts have more open ground than most MMR housing, and it is often wasted on lawns and exotic plants that need constant water. With summer supply uncertain, that becomes a cost societies notice. Our planting schemes lean on species that grow wild in this district, with rain gardens for monsoon water and drip lines supplied by the STP. The result looks after itself better, gives shade where people walk, and costs less to maintain once the developer has left.
Titwala lies at the northern edge of KDMC, a few stations beyond Kalyan on the line towards Kasara. It is best known for its Mahaganpati temple, which draws visitors from across the region, and the town grew up around the temple and the station. The Kalu river, a tributary of the Ulhas, runs close by, and paddy fields, low hills and small villages still surround the town. Over the past two decades that farmland has been sold for affordable housing, and mid-rise layouts now stand among fields. Families come here for the price of a flat and commute long hours to work.

Sustainable Landscaping in Titwala: common questions.
01Can native plants look as good as a manicured lawn?
They look different: layered, shaded and seasonal rather than flat and green all year. Many residents come to prefer them once trees mature. If residents want a lawn for games, we keep a small one and plant the rest for low water use. We show examples before anything is finalised.
02How long does sustainable landscaping take in Titwala?
On timing: design to execution by scope; maintenance optional. A realistic Titwala schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
