Terminals and port facilities at Nhava Sheva carry clearance conditions that last through their working life: air and noise readings at terminals and in nearby villages, water and sediment quality in the harbour, mangrove protection or planting, and oil-spill preparedness. Each six-monthly report on Parivesh has to account for all of them. We schedule the monitoring, compile the evidence from terminal operators and the port, and draft a report that answers every condition honestly.
JNPT / Nhava Sheva means the port and the ground it occupies: the container terminals of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority along the harbour, some run by the port and some by private operators, with liquid-cargo berths, rail sidings, container yards and the port's own township at Sheva. The old villages of Nhava and Sheva gave the port its name, and parts of them remain nearby. A large part of this land was once tidal creek and mudflat, filled to build the port. Trucks and trains serve the terminals around the clock, and the channel is dredged to keep large ships coming in.

The holder of the clearance files it, but the terminal operator usually has to supply the data for its own area. The concession agreement often sets out who does what. Misaligned reports are a common problem. We help both sides agree roles and assemble one consistent report.
