In Dronagiri's container yards, the wastewater problems are container washing, truck and equipment servicing, and oily runoff from large paved yards. Wash water carries residues of whatever the container last held; runoff carries oil and grit. We set up oil-water separators on yard drains, a treatment unit sized for washing, and a routine for sludge disposal, so what leaves the yard towards the creek meets the consent standard.
Dronagiri is CIDCO's node south of the port, named after the hill that rises within it. It was planned for both industry and housing, and its logistics side has grown fastest: container freight stations, warehouses and truck yards serve the port next door. Residential sectors are filling in more slowly. Much of the node was built on low land reclaimed from creek, salt pan and mudflat, and wetlands at its edges fill with migratory birds in winter. Container trucks bound for the port crowd the node's roads at every hour.
