Old housing compounds in Mira Road often keep trees that were planted long before the present flats, and redevelopment and road widening put many at risk. Every felling or relocation must first be approved by MBMC's tree authority, and replacement planting ordered in return is inspected afterwards. Metro and road works along the main streets have added to the loss. We survey and tag each tree, look for layouts that keep the healthiest standing, and handle the application, transplanting and replanting with survival records.
Mira Road is the southern half of the city, just north of Dahisar, and it has grown into one of the densest residential areas in the region. Housing complexes, many of them now being rebuilt as towers, line the streets east of the station, with shops, schools, hospitals and restaurants on every main road. Westward and southward lie salt pans and the mangrove fringe of the creeks; eastward lie the Western Express Highway and the hills beyond. The Metro line being built from Dahisar towards Bhayandar is adding another layer of construction along the main roads.

Tree Management in Mira Road: common questions.
01Can our society fell a tree inside its own compound without asking?
In most cases, yes. Maharashtra's urban tree protection law covers privately owned trees too, so a society compound is included. Felling without leave can bring a fine. We check what each tree requires, prepare the application and arrange any compensatory planting the authority asks for.
02How long does tree management take in Mira Road?
On timing: census in weeks; NOC by Tree Authority calendar. A realistic Mira Road schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
