Environment Clearance in Mumbra, Thane.

Mumbra's building stock will change mostly through redevelopment, and where that happens at scale (several old buildings amalgamated, or a scheme covering a whole block) the new project can cross the clearance threshold even though no single old building came near it. A clearance then brings conditions lane-by-lane rebuilding never faced: sewage treatment, waste processing, green cover, rainwater harvesting. On a plot against the Parsik hill it adds slope stability and drainage. We assess the combined area early and plan these into the scheme.

Mumbra is a TMC ward on a narrow strip of land between the Parsik hills and the creek, east of Kalwa, with the railway running along the water's edge and the Mumbra bypass cut into the hill above. It is among the most densely built parts of the city: mid-rise buildings packed into lanes, older settlements, and busy market streets near the station. The hill rises steeply behind, with the Mumbra Devi shrine near its top and houses on its lower slopes. Kausa, to the south, continues the same pattern, and new building is still going up at the ward's edges.
