Effluent Treatment Plants for Vasai MIDC: read against this area's own ground, not the city's average.
Why Vasai MIDC
The ground this work sits on here.
- Area
- Vasai MIDC, Vasai-Virar
- Practice
- Sustainable Infrastructure Services
- Typically for
- Chemical, pharma, textile, food, distillery and engineering units
Most units in Vasai MIDC produce little effluent, but the ones that do (metal finishing, drum washing, chemical formulation) tend to produce it in bursts. A plant sized for an average day copes poorly with a Friday clean-out. We measure the flow and the load across a working week, add holding capacity for the peaks, and fit a compact treatment train into whatever corner of the plot is free, with a logbook the operator can keep up without help.
Vasai MIDC is the town's planned industrial area, laid out east of the railway on the road inland from Vasai Road station. It is a working estate of modest plots rather than large campuses: engineering and fabrication shops, plastic moulders, packaging and printing units, and a number of small chemical and pharmaceutical formulators. Many units began as family businesses and are still run by the people who founded them or their children. Around the estate the land has filled with housing, shops and transport yards, so the boundary between industrial plot and neighbourhood is now mostly a compound wall. Some older plots have been sold, split or put to new uses.
How it works
Effluent Treatment Plants, the route to grant.
- 01/05
Effluent characterisation
The real waste stream sampled and analysed (flow, pH, COD / BOD, TDS, colour and specific contaminants) before a single unit is sized.
- 02/05
Process design
Primary (equalisation, neutralisation), secondary (biological) and tertiary (filtration, RO) stages engineered to the consent outlet quality.
- 03/05
ZLD engineering (where required)
RO and multiple-effect evaporator / ATFD trains to recover water and reach zero discharge for the specified categories.
- 04/05
Build & commissioning (EPC)
Turnkey construction, dosing and control systems, then stabilisation and performance testing.
- 05/05
Monitoring & compliance
Effluent-quality monitoring and the records that keep the CTO and any online-monitoring obligation in good standing.

Effluent Treatment Plants in Vasai MIDC: common questions.
01Our ETP was installed ten years ago and the results are now failing. Should we replace it?
Not necessarily. Failing results often come from a changed process, a worn pump or dosing that nobody has adjusted since commissioning. We test the raw and treated water, check each unit against its design, and recommend the smallest change that brings results back within limits. Replacement is the answer only when the plant can no longer handle what the unit now makes.
02How long does effluent treatment plants take in Vasai MIDC?
On timing: design to commissioning by project schedule. A realistic Vasai MIDC schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
