The wastes that matter most in Phase I are the hazardous ones: distillation residues, spent carbon, filter cakes, treatment sludge and the drums that held raw materials. Space is short, and waste left too long at the back of the yard is a fire and inspection risk in one. We set up covered, bunded storage sized to real generation, labels that match the authorisation, and a dispatch routine that keeps storage within its permitted period, with each load backed by a manifest.
Phase I is the older half of the MIDC estate in Dombivli East, laid out when paddy fields and open ground still surrounded it. Its plots hold chemical, dye, textile processing and engineering units, most of them owner-run, with reactor sheds, drum yards and boiler chimneys set close together. The estate was planned with its own residential zone, and that housing has since filled in and grown upward, so apartment blocks now overlook working plants across a single road. Its units send their wastewater on to a shared plant for final treatment. Several older units have shut or changed hands, and their sheds have found new occupiers.
How it works
Integrated Solid Waste Management, the route to grant.
- 01/05
Waste assessment
Quantities and composition measured across the wet, dry and domestic-hazardous streams, the basis for right-sizing everything.
- 02/05
Segregation & collection design
Colour-coded, source-level segregation and a collection flow the residents or staff will actually follow.
- 03/05
Material recovery
A recovery step for dry recyclables, cutting what goes to landfill and turning waste into value.
- 04/05
Decentralised processing
On-site composting or biomethanation for the wet fraction, sized to the load, with a plan for the finished compost or gas.
- 05/05
DPR & compliance
A detailed project report where needed and the records that satisfy the urban local body and the bulk-generator rules.

Integrated Solid Waste Management in Dombivli MIDC Phase I: common questions.
01How long can we keep hazardous waste on site before sending it for disposal?
The rules generally allow storage for up to ninety days, and your authorisation may set its own conditions. Longer storage needs a reason and permission. We set a dispatch schedule based on how quickly each waste builds up, so loads leave before the limit rather than when the yard is full.
02How long does integrated solid waste management take in Dombivli MIDC Phase I?
On timing: assessment in weeks; system by site scale. A realistic Dombivli MIDC Phase I schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
