Why Andheri (E) MIDC
The ground this work sits on here.

- Chemical, pharma, textile, food, distillery and engineering units
Effluent in Andheri MIDC is small in volume and varied in content: rinse water from plating or cosmetics mixing, washings from pharmaceutical formulation, cleaning water from food processing. Most units have little space and discharge into shared sewers. Treatment is therefore compact and specific to the process (neutralisation, oil separation, settling or filtration), rather than a full plant. We characterise the water first, then design the smallest system that meets the limits the consent sets.
The MIDC industrial area at Marol in Andheri East was set up for small and medium industry close to the airport, and it still holds that mix: engineering shops, pharmaceutical and cosmetic units, printers, food processors and electronics workshops, many in shared industrial buildings. The SEEPZ export zone lies beside it. Over time many plots have become offices, IT buildings and hotels, and the metro now runs through the area. Housing and settlements surround the estate on every side. It is a working industrial area that is gradually turning into an office district.
How it works
Effluent Treatment Plants, the route to grant.
- 01/05
Effluent characterisation
The real waste stream sampled and analysed (flow, pH, COD / BOD, TDS, colour and specific contaminants) before a single unit is sized.
- 02/05
Process design
Primary (equalisation, neutralisation), secondary (biological) and tertiary (filtration, RO) stages engineered to the consent outlet quality.
- 03/05
ZLD engineering (where required)
RO and multiple-effect evaporator / ATFD trains to recover water and reach zero discharge for the specified categories.
- 04/05
Build & commissioning (EPC)
Turnkey construction, dosing and control systems, then stabilisation and performance testing.
- 05/05
Monitoring & compliance
Effluent-quality monitoring and the records that keep the CTO and any online-monitoring obligation in good standing.

Effluent Treatment Plants in Andheri (E) MIDC: common questions.
01Our effluent is mostly floor washing. Does it need treatment?
Often it does. Floor washings in a production area carry product residue, oils and cleaning chemicals. Whether treatment is required, and how much, depends on what the tests show and what the consent sets. We sample the water under normal working conditions and recommend treatment matched to what is actually present.
02How long does effluent treatment plants take in Andheri (E) MIDC?
On timing: design to commissioning by project schedule. A realistic Andheri (E) MIDC schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
