Kamothe's gardens are few and small, and each serves a crowded catchment of buildings around it. Walkers at dawn, children after school and older residents at dusk all use the same half-acre. That calls for durable paths, shade trees before lawns, seating in the shade, lighting that works and play equipment that stands up to constant use. Low ground also means some gardens flood; they can be graded to hold water for a short time and drain it slowly, without spoiling them for use.
Kamothe is a CIDCO residential node between Kharghar and Kalamboli, south of the Sion–Panvel highway, opposite Kharghar. It is made almost entirely of housing: sectors of mid-rise society buildings, with shops on the ground floor along the main roads, schools, small parks and the village that gave the node its name. Mansarovar and Khandeshwar stations on the harbour line serve it. Much of the land sits low, sloping towards creek and marsh in the west, and rain drains slowly in heavy spells. The node filled up fast, and its oldest buildings now need looking after.

Public Gardens & Biodiversity Parks in Kamothe: common questions.
01Our local garden turns into a pond every monsoon. Is that something design can solve?
Often. Raised paths and seating areas, a planted low zone that holds water for a few hours, and a clear outlet to the storm drain let a garden flood without being ruined. Blocked drains around it make things worse, so those need clearing too. We take levels across the garden and draw a plan for the corporation to approve.
02How long does public gardens & biodiversity parks take in Kamothe?
On timing: design to commissioning by scope; maintenance ongoing. A realistic Kamothe schedule is set once the site and the scope have been read, and the work is carried through to the outcome by the same named people.
