Eight kilometres of water supply infrastructure for Walchandnagar Industries in Andhra Pradesh: intake well, pipeline and pumping works sized to the project's own distribution requirement.
The brief
Water supply is a chain, and it is only as good as its weakest link: an intake that silts, a main that leaks, or a pump sized for a head it does not actually face will each defeat the rest of the system.
An industrial supply is specified by the process it feeds rather than by a population, so the intake, the main and the pumping are sized against the plant's draw and the head it has to be delivered at.
What KIPL executed
- Intake well
- The abstraction structure at the source.
- Pipeline
- 8 km of water supply main.
- Pumping works
