A 150 KLD sewage treatment plant for Pratik Garden at Kamothe, treating the development's sewage on Micro Filtration: the same site also runs a 150 kg/day organic waste converter.
The brief
A residential development has to treat its own sewage before it discharges, and it has to do it inside the footprint it already has. Kamothe was sized at 150 KLD, which is what the development produces, not a round number chosen upward.
Micro Filtration is the process. Micro-filtration takes the treated stream through a membrane barrier rather than relying on settlement alone, which produces a consistent effluent quality from a variable inflow: useful where the treated water is reused on site.
The same development also carries a 150 kg/day organic waste converter, so its sewage and its biodegradable waste are both handled where they are produced rather than leaving the site.
