The brief
Major mineral mining sits at schedule 1(a) of the EIA Notification, which is the most demanding category the notification has. The assessment has to establish a baseline across air, water, noise, land and ecology, and then say what a working mine does to each of them.
Two bauxite leases, Goniasar and Naredi-Mota-Nandra: assessed for GMDC, with the work coordinated by Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, a QCI-NABET approved Project Coordinator for mining projects.
